Rooshoek is a walled garden in the middle of Potchefstroom, with cottages along one side, a chapel at the end of it, and a tea garden under the trees.

People come for one of the three and end up knowing about the other two. A family books a cottage for a graduation weekend and has breakfast in the garden. Somebody stops in for a milkshake and notices the chapel. It is a small place, and that is the point of it.

Rooshoek is ’n ommuurde tuin in die middel van Potchefstroom, met kothuise aan die een kant, ’n kapel aan die end daarvan, en ’n teetuin onder die bome.

Mense kom vir een van die drie en leer die ander twee ken. ’n Gesin bespreek ’n kothuis vir ’n gradeplegtigheid en eet ontbyt in die tuin. Iemand stop vir ’n melkskommel en sien die kapel raak. Dis ’n klein plekkie, en dit is juis die punt.
